Non-Profit Organizations

Non-Profit Organizations are among the first to mobilize and to provide relief for those in need during a disaster.

Contact a local non-profit to help you and your family survive during and after a disaster. Here are some forms of assistance that they may provide:

  • Rescue
  • Food
  • Shelter
  • Transportation
  • Blankets and Supplies
  • Extra Clothing
  • Insurance Advice and Disaster Information
  • Crisis Counseling
  • Registration and Identification of Victims

When you contact a non-profit to assist you during an emergency, remember the following things:

  • Bring relevant documentation with you such as identification or insurance information.
  • Answer all questions completely and honestly.
  • Let them know about your medical needs.
  • Be patient and understanding.

You can help your community by volunteering for local non-profits.

Many non-profit organizations rely on volunteers to support their programs.  If you are able to assist them before or during an emergency, contact your local non-profit organizations to find out how you can help.
